Discover Korean culture through food!

No country has more contrasts than the highly developed, yet traditional South Korea. During the “best food tour in Seoul,” we will introduce you to 4 different delicious meals with fun people while discovering the contrast between Seoul’s modern and ancient hidden spots. If you want to experience an unforgettable night with people from around the world and great food, this tour is for you!

On our night food tour through contrasting Seoul, we will dine at a famous Budae Jjigae (Army Stew) restaurant, enjoy various kinds of street food, and, of course, the best Korean BBQ with Soju!

Description

Korean Pork BBQ (Samgyeopsal) with Soju

Korean BBQ Samgyeopsal
mouthwatering Samgyeopsal

Samgyeopsal (meaning 3-layered pork) is Korea’s unofficial national dish. In fact, it is so popular that there is even a day (the 3rd of March) dedicated to it. We will visit an authentic BBQ Place which is very popular amongst the locals and completely unknown to tourists! Juicy meat is grilled directly at the table and enjoyed with many side dishes and -of course- Soju! Be prepared for some fun Korean drinking games

Budae Jjigae (Army Stew)

Budaejjigae (Army Stew)
Budaejjigae (Army Stew)

This Korean-American fusion dish was created by Korean soldiers after the war and has a fascinating story behind it. It tastes like no other meal due to the various ingredients such as noodles, tofu, sausages, and kimchi! The slightly spicy, savory meal is definitely one of the country’s favorites, and we know the perfect place to get it. A must try!

Street Food

Trip around:

This was an AWESOME Tour! As a food lover, I really enjoy trying various kinds of food! I ate Budae Jjigae, Street food, Patbingsu, and Samgyeopsal(it was my favorite!!). Not only we ate food but also enjoyed traditional and modernized places. Each had a interesting story. Our guide was so knowledgeable. And he brought us hidden restaurants, not touristy! There were only Koreans so I could know it is very local places. I liked all food, places and atmosphere. Also, our gide told us about the food we were eating and how locals would eat it. Especially, Korean drinking game was so funny. Lol Moreover, every place was within a walking distance so it was never tired to walk. I strongly recommend this tour!! 🙂

As a foodie I have joined quite some food tours but this is one of my favorites!
I was a bit unsure to join a group tour as a solo traveler but our guide Terry made us all feel really comfortable with each other. He picked us up at the subway station and we walked to a Stew restaurant. He told us some funny and interesting facts about how the dish was created but I actually couldnt imagine that the mix of Korean and American ingredients taste good together. But it turned out to be delicious!! I will definitely try to cook it at home 😀 Next we had a great (!!) night view on some skyscrapers at a stream, for me coming from a rural town that was really impressive. We went to some street food place where we tried rice cakes in spicy sauce and some other snacks, it was tasty but be careful the sauce is quite spicy!:) Then we continued to a small back-alley area, I was really surprised because it took literally 1 second to walk from busy Seoul into complete calmness. There were no tourists and it was fun walking through the narrow alleys.
The part I looked forward to the most was the bbq and I was not disappointed. We went to another back alley and it was filled with Koreans and small local bars and people drinking in tents, really fascinating! We grilled the meat together and Terry showed us how to eat it the right way (wrapped in salad and stuffed with other ingredients, really tasty!!) and some fun korean drinking games 😀 We also walked through a Hanok village which was beautiful! And it is a less famous one so there were no tourists, which I was really happy about.
The next food we ate was “Bingsu”, which is some kind of ice flakes with read beans. Red beans didnt sound like a dessert to me at first so I was even more surprised because they were sweet and really delicious! Especially after the bbq it was just what I needed. Terry brought us back to the subway and even explained me which subway to take and how to transfer, I really appreciate it!!

Highly recommend this tour! We enjoyed a variety of truly delicious food in places that we could not have found on our own. The shaved ice cream was my favorite, my boyfriend liked the Stew and in the BBQ place I really felt like a local! The group was small but that was good, we received our guide’s full attention. He was talkative and funny but explained everything really well.Thank you again^^ The transition between Seoul’s modern areas and old valleys was really fascinating tool. I plan to go back there on my next trip!
Thank you for the great evening 😀
