Overview

In Korea, the beautiful autumn leaves begin to change color in late September.  Ginkgo trees and maple trees throughout Korea change their hues to yellow and red.
This is the best season to visit Korea until early November.  Koreans think this is the most enjoyable season for outdoor activities because the weather is cool and crisp, less precipitation, low humidity, and the sky is blue.  The fall foliage occurs when leaves change color by around 20%, and the peak occurs when the color reaches 80%.

OnedayKorea offers a private autumn tour, and travelers can choose the destination flexibly. Let’s check out the best autumn leaves the location in Seoul as below.

Description

Downtown Seoul in the season of autumn, when the cold wind is starting to blow, you find the peculiar landscape complicated by modernity, tradition, and nature. There is a street called Deoksugung Doldam-gil with orange and yellow foliage trees planted along a 900-meter-long stone wall around Deoksugung Palace. Walking on its elegant road, also known as Jeongdong-gil, you can meet numerous traditional and modern structures such as art museums, embassies & legations, churches, and theaters. This area was the field of diplomacy and the introduction of new Western culture and civilization to Korea in the era of the Korean Empire(1897-1910). Whereas the yellow ginkgo trees are seen outside the palace, also yellowish brown foliage is observed inside Deoksugung along with the relics of traditional and modern architectures. Moreover, another way to feel the season of fall is to enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the whole landscape of Seoul CBD streets from Jeongdong Observatory between skyscrapers.

Olympic Park Garden is a legacy of the 1988 Seoul Olympics. This is now used as a leisure facility in which historic remains from the Baekje Era share the space with state-of-the-art sports stadiums, approximately 1.45 million ㎡ , with a natural environment. It is recognized as a cultural art park, an eco-park, a history experience park, the largest sports arena, and a resting place. This is one of the most beautiful parks located in Seoul that not many aliens know, especially those who visit Korea for the first time. Do not miss out on this beautiful place. Come here in autumn to explore the green grass field, the ginkgo tree road, and the flowers.

It may be surprising, but a dozen years ago, this area, Haneul Park is located was a massive disposal site. Seoul Metropolis recycled it into a green space when it was designated as a hosting city for the 2002 World Cup. Sky Park(another name of Haneul Park) is the highest site among soccer fields, with good observatory points enabling visitors to take in the fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and rivers. This open-air park is full of lush Eulalia(flame grass) and home to the Seoul Eulalia Festival, held in every October when the grass is in bloom. The park remains open until 10 pm. during the festival. In addition, visitors can enjoy the light festival there at night.
