Overview
Drive about 3 hours from Seoul to Mt. Seoraksan, Korea’s No.1 designated National Park. On the East Sea, you can enjoy both the scenery of the mountain and the coastal areas! It is always the subject of wonderful pictures. Its natural scenery follows the season changes with either autumn-hued maple trees in Fall or the intense green trees with some remains of snow in Spring, and so on.
Description
Mt. Seoraksan – You will get the chance to admire the panoramic view of the sheer cliffs and great rocks while riding on the cable car to Gwon-geumseong (Cable car tickets are own expense). After getting off the 10-minute cable car ride, you can enjoy the view of the beautiful beach of Sokcho city on the East Sea from the observatory.
A ten-minute-long hike on a mountain trail is enough to see a light brown rock that stands steadfast against the strong winds in the blue air. Gwon-geumseong is situated at 670m above sea level and was used as a fortress in order to protect the people from the Mongolian invasion. If you look down, you might get a little bit dizzy by the depth of the valley underneath, as it seems we can’t even see the rear end.
We will also visit a Buddhist temple called Shinheungsa that we can see from the cable car. You will get the chance to enter the prayer room inside a 14.6-meter-high bronze Buddha statue, which was built to symbolize the wish for the reunification of the two Koreas. After visiting and enjoying the quietness and calm of this relaxing temple, we will walk along a beautiful stream flowing down from the mountain, which is a UNESCO biosphere reserve containing 1200 species of rare plants and over 100 species of rare animals.
Then, you will get the opportunity to look around the fish market at Daepohang Port and try fresh seafood. (Lunch own expense / Restaurant & food can be changed to whatever you would prefer)
There are fish containers in which fish, crabs, and other sea animals are kept at the freshest they can be, as they are still alive. Directly from it, you can choose one that the restaurant will cook for you. You can watch, smell, and eat the fresh, lively sea. While walking through the fishery market, you can also observe some fish, such as pollack, squid, being dried in the sun beside the beach. Find the seaweed in the clean water and also purchase dried seafood (seaweeds such as sea mustard, kelp & sliced, seasoned, and dried fish such as cuttlefish, octopus, filefish felt). In the fishery market, you can try various kinds of fish(octopus, flatfish, hairtail, angular fish …) and seafood(crab, lobster, clam, oyster, abalone, sea cucumber, sea squirt, mussel, styela, and spoon worm…)
Optional tour – Stay in Naksansa Temple, the repository of countless Buddhist treasures! This is a Buddhist temple complex primarily built during the Silla Period in 671 by a monk Uisang, thus boasting a 1300-year history! Facing the East Sea, the temple has plenty of monuments such as the seven-story stone pagoda and the 15-meter statue Haesu-gwaneum-sang, Goddess of Mercy, who looks down graciously and mercifully on the people and the endless line of the beach. It also houses the octagonal Ui-sang-dae Pavilion, which was built at the edge of the beach, the boundary between the Earthly World and Buddhist Ideal World(here, East Coast), where the great monk used to sit and meditate beside the seashore with wild waves swelling up and dispersing down. The temple has been restored several times over the centuries, but still retains its original beauty.

I spent quite a bit of time researching for the best company for this itinerary and settled on One Day Korea because unlike many others it was a private tour and they did hotel drop offs and pick ups …plus they had good reviews. Our driver and guide was Justin who met us on schedule in front of our hotel. We drove in a comfortable air conditioned van. The vehicle is important because most of this trip will be spent in the vehicle….approximately three hours both ways . Since Justin is driving his ability to communicate with you as a guide while driving is handicapped to ensure your safety. He is a good driver which is also key. Justins English is fairly good but frankly I had a hard time understanding him sometimes when he was driving and facing away from us.

This was one of a thrilling trip we made. Going up on a cable car, walk on the top of the rock, and be awed by the scenery. More thrilling was goin up until the top of the boulder. It was supeeer…… Brian (our guide) made us feel safe and secured all along the trip. And all along our trip, he entertained us with his “witty” conversation and made our daughter Alyssa be informed of the latest on her KPop idols…..
Two thumbs up……. the fish market side trip was a bonus……

What a great tour! My wife and I absolutedly loved the breathtaking views of Mount Seoraksan and the Naksansa Temple/East Sea. Justin, our tour guide, was so kind. He was taking candid pictures of us the entire time. Not to mention he was very comfortable to be around. The lunch at the fish market was a feast – my wife and I had always wanted to try seafood in Korea but did not know how to order. Justin did a great job of ordering on our behalf. All in all, I would highly recommend this tour! This won’t be our last with One Day Korea!

My father and I visited Korea for two weeks in late-November 2017. Seoul was our home base, but we wanted to get out of the city a bit as well–One Day Korea tours were the solution! We took the Seoul: Old and New tour (plus N-Tower), the East Coast Tour, and the Seorak Mountain tour (plus Naksan Temple). All three tours were outstanding! Our guides spoke English very well and were punctual, friendly, knowledgeable, and went well above and beyond the call of duty to help my dad and I enjoy our trip.

From the pick up at the hotel to the drop of our tour guide Smith gave us a wonderful tour. He was very informative and helpful and we really felt like he became a part of our family on this trip.
The trip itself was more than what we had hoped for. Beautiful scenery and amazing view from the top. Can highly recommend this trip for everyone young and old. After the national park we went out to the ocean and had a look at the fish market and a stunning sunset by the sea.

My friend and I had a great time in Korea, and while we stayed in Seoul, the most memorable part of our vacation were the day trips with One Day Korea. There were two things we really wanted to see and that was to go to Seoraksan Mountain and check out the East Coast of Korea, so we were so excited to find that One Day Korea had those two tours. The booking process was really easy. We booked online Monday, and by Wednesday, we completed our first tour. I was surprised at how fast they responded. The customer service was excellent. We enjoyed every minute of the tours, both done with our friendly and knowledgeable guide Jonathan. Jonathan gave us so much insight into Korea, and whatever questions we had, he was able to fill us in on the sights we saw. Thank you One Day Korea and Jonathan for giving us two great days we will never forget!

What can I say? This tour was so well done and the views were beyond beautiful! Our guide Johnathan was so friendly and knowledgeable about Korea itself and the area around this mountain in particular. As an avid hiker, he was able to provide details about the various hikes and parts of the mountain that we would see as we climbed up. Although of course, we did not do any extended hikes on this tour, he gave us plenty of time to ride up on the cable car and explore the mountain’s incredible views. I am very glad we made the decision to go to Seoroksan mountain and that we booked through OneKorea. I would definitely recommend both!

Thumbs up for all tours! We’ve got to experienced all as we dine in at traditional markets where only locals are there. Two thumbs up for our guide, Brian. No language barrier as he is fluent in English, very informative, and also patient on the traffic condition . Very recommended tour ang tour guide!

As we already spend few weeks in Seoul, me and my friend decided to take a breath away from the effervescence of the city. But we didn’t know where to go so we decided to check on the internet and also trip advisor. That was how we actually discovered Onedaykorea.
We chose to book “Seoraksan Mountain Tour”.
We were picked up at our hotel and then headed up to the mountain by car
Arrived at Seoraksan we took the cable car to go up to the mountain. The view was incredible (I must admit that it was very high so I didn’t really look down ^^”)
On the top we admired a fantastic landscape, lights and colors were beautiful. The Seoraksan National park was incredible, it was very refreshing and peaceful. On top of that, we were able to take many beautiful pictures.
Then we went down the mountain the weather was great as it was neither too hot nor too cold. Once again we were amazed by the nature.
After that walk we shared a delicious lunch.
Before to go back to our hotel, we went to Naksansa temple. This place was full of serenity it was a good way to end this long but still excellent journey.
Thanks onedaykorea!!!!

We booked two tours with One Day Korea to Nami Island, Gangchon Rail, Jade Garden and Seoraksan, Sokcho. Our tour specialists Duke and Terry were great! They are careful drivers who made the journey safe and comfortable especially for the 3hr long drive to Seoraksan. No shopping tours, no rush, at your pace and straight to sights and good food places recommended by them as we were keen to try the local food. (stuff you wont find in Seoul). They are great photographers too! We were provided beautiful pictures of our day trips FOC:) We learned much about the local scene and culture through them. Will definitely book One Day Korea if we visit again!

We had an enjoyable and well organized tour and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or re-engage the company if I travel again to Seoul. Special mention of our guide Duke, who was always considerate of how we were!

It is about 3 hours drive to Mt Sorak. Our driver/guide Duke was very good and careful driver, so the trip was a pleasant one. The tour included a visit to the Fish Market as well as a Herb garden. Both these places are interesting as they are different from the places in Seoul. This One Day Korea day trip allows one to visit a few places without the hassle of planning and driving.

We did the Seroksan and DMZ tour with One Day Korea. Did lots of research on tour companies in Seoul and didn’t regret my decision at all. Pick up from your hotel, private tours catered to you, transport was excellent (loved the DVD player) and the communication in arranging the tours was brilliant, (thanks Terry) Best thing about the whole thing was Duke. It was like hanging out in these amazing places with a new friend rather than a tour guide. He even arranged a last minute detour after the DMZ to fill some time before we flew back rather than let us stay at the airport for 5 hours! They don’t get many English tourists so a some of our conversation was a bit lost in translation but Duke was very patient and keen to muddle through. Also loved the pictures he sent through afterwards.

Thank you OnedayKorea for this great one day tour in Seoraksan!
Booking the tour was easy and we were picked up at our hotel right on time.
The ride was comfortable and we enjoyed the beautiful mountains of Seoraksan, Naksansa Temple and of course the delicious food.
Our guide was really helpful, he gave us good information and was always ready to answer our questions. In addition, he didn’t forget to take photos of us on all of the best spots. A good souvenir to keep!

We had such an awesome day tour thanks to our guides Terry and Duke. They were extremely friendly and attentive. They took us to the best spots with breath-taking sceneries and to the best restaurants with delicious food. And even through it was drizzling a little bit on that day, we still enjoyed the trip and had a lot of fun. Thank you again for the unforgettable memories. Definitely recommended!
