Boseong is one of the most beautiful, undiscovered parts of South Korea, especially in the early spring and then in the fall when it is harvest season. It is a picturesque area filled with rolling hills that are all used for growing tea. Boseong green tea fields can be considered the most beautiful green tea fields in Korea thanks to its great views as well as its famous food shops who focus on using the green tea as the main ingredient for their products.
Just one hour drive from Boseong, Damyang’s famous Bamboo Garden features a waterfall, pavilions, panda sculptures, an old Confucian School and a Bamboo Ecological Exhibition Hall. (Showcasing bamboo handicrafts and a small snack bar). While walking in this forest, people are awestruck by how high bamboo trees can grow! It takes about 1 hour to visit the entire garden and the forest provides a fresh feeling during hot summer days. The bamboo Forest was featured in the popular Korean drama Iljimae.
Located not far from the Bamboo Garden, the Metasequoia Road was selected as one of the most beautiful roads of Korea in 2006. It has been featured in various Korean TV shows. Initially planted in 1970, the boulevard’s massive Metasequoia trees are now forming a large canopy above the road creating a beautiful scenery in every season and weather. On the Metasequoia Forest Road, electric two or four-wheelers and bikes are available for kids or families to enjoy a relaxing ride with the high trees fresh scent. Do not miss the street food either!

Our trip to Boseong and Damyang was probably the most challenging for OneDay Korea as it required 10 hours of drive to and from the destination. Our tour guide, Benny, was very professional in his services. Despite having to drive 10 hours for the day and bring us around till late, Benny was always very cheerful and made us laugh alot.
