Find below some ideas of what to do in Korea in June ;)
Herb Island Light Festival

In our list of what to do in Korea in June, the Herb Island Light Festival is one of our suggestion. This festival takes place in Pocheon, on the Herb Island. So that you know, the park is not a real island. It gathers Mediterranean plants and presents random themes. When the sun sets, colorful lights starts to “come alive” in the garden. The plants and trees shine brightly. You can take advantage of some nice spots for pictures such as the pink tunnel, the Santa village and the sparkling architectures. You will be immersed in a fairy tale at night. Maybe you will have the chance to watch cultural performances.
Korean folk village “Welcome to Joseon.”
Let’s go back to the Joseon era. Each spring, the Korean Folk Village in Yongin hosts a Variety Festival called “Welcome to Joseon.” You can attend traditional performances. You can see some part-time actors disguised in Joseon characters such as entertainers, salespeople, and even beggars. They are wandering freely throughout the park looking for interactions with visitors. Enjoy the atmosphere of Joseon dynasty. Do not miss the special parade! If you feel like it, you can dress up as a real Korean from Joseon, wearing hanbok. You can also participate in making traditional crafts like a pouch. The village is divided into 4 parts: the marketplace and the market village, the folk village and the amusement village.

Otherwise, if you don’t want to go in Yongin and stay in Seoul, the Namsangol Hanok village will be a great alternative.

Until the end of June, it offers traditional experiences with the theme “All about Korean Experience.” You can participate in many activities such as trying on hanbok, tea ceremony experience, making rice cake, and even learning how to play danso, a traditional instrument.
Amusement parks in Seoul: Lotte World and Everland
These two amusement parks are perfect for entertainment and sightseeing.
First of all, let’s talk about Lotte World based in Seoul. Lotte World proposes sensational rides, a folk museum, an ice rink, several parades, a lake, a shopping mall, etc. It has two worlds: Adventure world (indoor) and Magic Island (outdoor).

In Lotte World Adventure, you can wander into different districts, each of them representing a country. Play and have fun! You can visit the folk museum displaying relics of 5,000 years of Korea history and after go shopping or admire the parade of the moment.
The rides are in the Magic Island, which is an artificial island. You have the choice between 17 different attractions. This is enough to satisfy the taste of kids and adults.
Moreover, Everland is the largest amusement park in Korea, based in Yongin. It is formed by different theme areas, welcomes several parade and festivals (Rose festival, Summer splash, romantic illumination, …).

If you go there, you must ride the T-express, wooden roller coaster, very popular among visitors. Likewise, you can visit Zootopia especially with the Lost Valley offering a safari adventure aboard an amphibian car. Or if you are a lover of plants, Plantopia will be perfect. Theme gardens can be found in European Adventure zone and the Magic Land zone. Splendid gardens to take memorable pictures.
Two amusement parks are welcoming you, make your choice and get the tickets and enjoy the most as possible your trip in Korea in June.

Animal & Heart Village in Ansan
Let you carry away in a different world by visiting the Animal & Heart village. Admire the bright and romantic lights decorating
the park and dive into a lovely atmosphere. The Animal Village displays around 200 animals from all over the world.
The Heart Village is the village of couples. Show your love to your partner by walking in this “lovely” village full of hearts. You will be able to find different spots to capture special moments of this romantic evening (wedding theme, and even a propose zone).
Gangneung Danoje

If you want to experience a festival outside of Seoul, then we advise you to go to Gangneung. In June, it is a nice city to visit. Besides, from June 14th to June 21st, 2018, the city holds the Gangneung Danoje festival. It is a popular festival, designated a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. It has been created to conserve the Korean folk culture of the Joseon dynasty. You can attend different rituals like the main one made to protect the city. Likewise, to follow these rituals, traditional performances (traditional wedding ceremony, make local rice cake, …) and competitions are organized (wrestling, swing riding, …).
After participating in this festival, you can discover other faces of Gangneung with its beaches and ports. You can even see the sunrise on Jeongdongjin beach which will give you nice shrills because of its beauty. A nice excursion to explore the sea mood of Gangneung.
