Hongdae (the abbreviation of Hongik University) has become a symbol of unique cultural identity among Korea’s youth. Here you’ll see underground rappers, indie rockers, struggling artists, and people with pink hair. And in Korea, most of the people on the fringes of society are usually the youngest. Korea has a very strong mainstream mindset and culture. And to break away from that, most people need youth to fuel their bravery/rebellion. Couple that with the other large universities nearby (Sinchon, Ehwa), and you’ve got yourself a youthful college hangout.

Our tour guide will meet you at your hotel. You can choose to start the tour in the afternoon or at night. In Hongdae, we can visit the most popular cafe and walk along the street art district. You will also ride the rickshaw and see the lifestyle of the young generations in this youthful place!
It’s a vibrant place with lots of cheap and affordable restaurants, bars, and clubs. Older businessmen and families visiting Seoul may find the art and subculture enchanting, but may feel a bit out of place if they can’t hang with the young ones. Of course, none of this matters if you’re young at heart
